Pushbutton Troubleshooting Guide

Listed below are some of the common symptoms for pushbuttons, along with a list of items to inspect. Secondly, we have included some standard maintenance items for your pushbutton system. If you don't find what you are looking for, please contact us at (800) 287-0653 or email Customer Service.

Symptom: Pushbutton doesn't register on timer:

  • Are there any frayed wires?


  • Is the pushbutton shorted?


  • Has the pushbutton been damaged?


  • What is the condition of the banana connector?


  • What is the condition of the plunger?


  • What is the condition of the cables?


  • Is the problem the pushbutton, the indeck system, or cable harnesses?



  • Maintenance:
    Clean connectors with Lime-A-Way.

  • Fill small cup with Lime-A-Way.


  • Dip connectors in cleaner.


  • Rub metal plugs with soft cloth or fingers.


  • Allow to soak for 10 - 15 minutes.


  • Rinse of with clean water, not treated pool water.


  • Repeat for each pushbutton.


  • Perform maintenance regularly, i.e. twice a season.
